Egypt Football TeamAre the current African Champions and South Africa will host the 2010 FIFA World Cup. Egypt won the inaugural African Nations Cup in 1957, and also won the tournament in 1959, 1986, 1998, and 2006.

Their impressive victory in 2006 has enabled them to be one of the most established sides in Africa. Ahmed Hossam Hussein Abdelhamid, better known as "Mido" is their talisman. The Tottenham striker is an awesome player and is a firm favourite of Egyptian fans. But Mido is not alone in the talent stakes, Werder Bremen's Mohamed Zidan is an up and coming young star.

Ahmed Hassan was captain during the famous 2006 African Cup run and has an impressive 100 + caps for his country.

SOUTH AFRICA

South Africa, Football TeamFootball is massive in South Africa. The nation made the 1998 and 2002 World Cups, but failed to get out of the first round each time. They did host and win the 1996 African Nations Cup and will host the 2010 World Cup, the first African nation to do so.

Known as Bafana Bafana, the side boasts an impressive set of players. Shaun Bartlett is well known to UK Premiership fans, as a striker who played for Charlton Athletic before moving to South African giants Kaizer Chiefs. Benni McCarthy was signed in the summer of 2006 by Blackburn Rovers after many impressive games in Europe for sides such as Ajax, Celta Vigo and Porto. Attacking midfielder Siyabonga Nomvethe plays in Denmark after successful spells in Italy.
